MELBOURNE, FL – March 1, 2011 – Cancer Care Centers Foundation strives to provide comprehensive support services, community outreach and education to assist the many people within our community who have been touched by cancer. On Friday March 4 the foundation will offer a luncheon and an informative presentation on breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery by Emran Imami, M.D., F.A.C.S. of TEPAS Breast Center.
Dr. Imami received his undergraduate degree from Emory University and completed his medical degree from the University of Florida, College of Medicine. His residency and fellowship were completed at University of Florida, Jacksonville. He has over 25 years of surgical experience and was a distinguished teacher and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Florida for over 12 years. In 1998, he was featured caring for a young accident victim in The Leaning Channel’s, “Trauma: Life in the ER.” In 1999, Dr. Imami transformed Holmes Regional Medical Center into the state’s 19th Trauma Center. Over the past several years, Dr. Imami has focused on breast cancer surgery. He holds numerous positions, including fellowship in the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Breast Surgeons.
