BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – TEPAS Breast Center (TBC), a Central Florida regional comprehensive women’s diagnostic breast center that provides screening and diagnosing breast problems, hosts a support group conducted by Breast Friends of Florida the second Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. at TEPAS Breast Center, 1140 Broadband Drive in Melbourne, Florida.
“We understand the anxiety of lengthy work-ups and take every effort to expedite your care,” said Emran Imami, MD FACS, Board Certified General and Breast Surgeon.
“Our team communicates with you and your physician as soon as results become available from our highly experienced and Board Certified radiologist. All this is performed in a luxurious, soothing setting tailored for your expectations,” he said.
One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, and although breast cancer is very treatable, the best approach is early detection.
“We encourage you to perform monthly self-examinations, undergo routine annual mammograms, and see your primary care doctor regularly, ” said Dr. Imami.
“When faced with a cancer diagnosis, many people feel helpless. We believe healthcare should restore hope every step of the way. At TEPAS Breast Center, you will experience compassionate service in a warm setting, quick responses to results, access to leading-edge technologies and procedures, and a multitude of informational and supportive resources,” he said.
TEPAS Breast Center also donates space to the American Cancer Society, which offers one of Brevard County’s only resource centers. Trained volunteers assist those battling cancer by providing wigs, turbans, scarves, prosthetics, bras and helpful information.
Because mental health is an essential part of cancer treatment and recovery, TEPAS offers an on-site psychologist Rachel LeFebvre, Ph.D. for counseling and support. Also, the Breast Friends of Florida, a group of cancer survivors, offers resources that assist friends and family members in efforts to encourage and strengthen each other and loved ones.
