Dr. Gelman is a U.S. trained, board-certified, general, endocrine and breast surgeon. Dr. Gelman is a former U.S. Air Force general surgeon and brings 16 years of surgery experience to TEPAS Healthcare.

After graduating on the Dean’s List with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Dr. Gelman graduated in the top ten percent of his class at the Rush University College of Medicine in Chicago. Here he received the Ramsey Outstanding Scholarship Award and was a member of the Alpha Omega Honor Society. Dr. Gelman completed his residency in general surgery at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center. His graduate medical research includes extensive work with Nd: YAG and CO2 lasers and wound healing, and techniques in laparoscopic hernia repair.

Dr. Gelman is board-certified and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also an American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons member. Dr. Gelman’s surgical expertise encompasses a wide range of areas with extensive experience in general, breast, thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
